History

Creation
Gijsberthus van Veldhuizen (born in 1866) takes over the service at Arnhem from Evert Davelaar. The company is located in the Achterkerkstraat 13-15 in Veenendaal.

First truck
The first truck was taken into use and the company name becomes ” Gebroeders van Veldhuizen ”.

In war time
During the evacuation in ’40’s Gerrit van Veldhuizen brings the Veenendaal archive into safety. In ’44 -’45 Gerrit and Teunis van Veldhuizen drive – despite of all the dangers – for the food supply.

Name change
The company name is changed to: Gebr. Van Veldhuizen Transport B.V.

After 86 years the company moves from the Achterkerkstraat to the Transformatorstraat in Veenendaal.

The 100th anniversary
A wonderful milestone for the family business. The centenary was crowned with the predicate ‘By Royal Decree Purveyor to the Royal Household’. We are very proud of this.
